The absolute Separation of Powers is not practical neither achievable Essay
The absolute Separation of Powers is not practical neither achievable. There is always going to be some degree of overlap. Evaluate the above in connection with the UK constitution - Essay Example In essence, the government is unified by many branches and the absolute division of powers is not achievable. If the various branches of the government were to be completely separated from other branches in terms of their functions, it would result in backlog and inefficiencies in all the branches. Additionally, it has been argued that the complete demarcation of powers will yield total confusion resulting from the general inefficiencies created by such a system (Haljan 2013). With regards to the UK constitution, a complete separation of powers, where there is no overlap is non-existent. A closer examination of the three arms of government and their functions, reveals that they are exercised by bodies and or persons who use more than one function of their individual branch. According to the UK constitution, there is a big overlap between the Executive, Judiciary and Legislative arms of government (Leeuwen 2010). The UK Constitution requires that the Prime Minister and his cabinet ministers be members of both the Legislature and Executive arms of government. Indeed, there is a close bond between the Judiciary and Executive arms. The cabinet ministers and the PM are members of Parliament and are also counted as constituting the members in the House of Commons. However, the House of Commons Disqualification Act of 1975, limits the number of cabinet ministers who can sit and vote in the House of Commons to 95. Government ministers also determine appeals in disputes resulting from town planning legislation. This means that their functions encompasses not only the executive arm of government, but also the judiciary. There are very many examples of the overlap between the functions of the three arms of government. One of those positions that gives credence to the notion of overlap, is that of the Lord Chancellor. Law Lords sit on the judicial committee relating to the Privy Council, plus

A Dangerous Business Essay
The collaborative investigative report conducted by the New York Times and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is an eye-opener on the real situation of thousands of employees working for giant industrial corporations. On the outside, it seems that American workforce is definitely more fortunate compared to those who take employment in developing countries. The general public is made to believe that every employee in the US is treated fairly and with respect. But with this documentary, the truth has been exposed. For several years, the McWane Corporation has been actively involved in contributing to the advancement of the US economy. However, this economic achievement comes with a price. Unfortunately, the collateral damage in this enterprise for monetary profit comes in the package of the human resources. Ironically, this particular organizational component is deemed to be the most important factor in the accomplishment of success in any company. A business would not function without its employees and vice versa. This natural and logical cycle has always been evident in the business world. However, in the case of McWane, their workers were treated as if they were indispensable. See more: Satirical essay about drugs As a result, plants owned by McWane holds the record for the highest number of violations regarding safety in the workplace. Looking closely on these intriguing and appalling facts about Americaââ¬â¢s workplace safety and the governmentââ¬â¢s efforts to reinforce the protection and security of the welfare of the employees, it cannot be helped to doubt the justice and labor system in the US. Based on the interviews and the accounts of former employees of McWane, it can be surmised that there is a deliberate attempt to compromise safety for the sake of increasing productivity which will eventually lead to a significant boost in McWaneââ¬â¢s revenues. Also, the government is very lenient in punishing companies that violate safety regulations because they are afraid that penalizing a powerhouse company can send a negative message to other corporations which could drastically affect the economy of the country. The dilemma here is whether to look after the global status of a nation or paying attention to the common good of the majority. Meanwhile, workers are belittled by the top management because they think that workers can be easily replaced. They know that people cannot live without work because common individuals need to sustain their ways of living with money. Companies exploit this situation wherein they make people feel they need any job as long as they will be paid so that they can be able to afford their chosen lifestyles. Because of this, many workers were injured, incapacitated and even died while on duty at their respective workplaces due to the neglect of management, leniency of the government and the build up on the dependency on monetary compensations.

Building J at Monte Alban at the Zapotec Site
The mysteriously-shaped Building J at the Zapotec site of Monte Albà ¡n in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, has been thought to have been built for astronomical and ritual purposes. Building J was likely first built about 1AD, with three main phases of construction, the most recent one between about AD 500-700. Architectural Design The building has a roughly pentagonal outline and it is skewed 45% in orientation from the remainder of the buildings at the site by many degrees. The building is oddly shaped, and its shape been variously described as a baseball diamond, home plate, or arrowhead. Low relief carvings on the building include a crossed-sticks glyph, thought to represent astronomical symbols. In addition to its remarkable exterior outline, it has a horizontal tunnel cut through it, and an outer staircase thats skewed another few degrees from the direction of the door. Orientation and the Star Capella Building Js architectural orientation is thought by researchers to point to the location of the star Capella. Capella is indicated by the orientation point of the building on May 2, when the sun reaches its zenith and passes directly overhead.
